RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager, analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain a record of assets and other financial activities within an organization. The Accounting Supervisor will manage the daily operations of the general ledger department including cash, accounts receivable, prepaid, other current/ long-term assets, fixed assets, inventory, intangible, and intercompany.

  • Review and reconcile all company cash accounts and OpsFunds to the general ledger on a monthly basis
  • Review day-to-day cash receipts for entry into the general ledger system on a daily basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit trail support for the cash receipts
  • Review and post daily incoming cash receipts to appropriate bank accounts and A/R invoice
  • Maintain all bank statements and work with AP to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Review and post monthly recurring/ adjusting journal entries to the general ledger to assure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and procedures
  • Ensure all journal entries and account reconciliations have appropriate support
  • Perform depreciation calculation for all fixed assets
  • Prepare and maintain a detailed schedule of accumulated depreciation and fixed assets
  • Review and post fixed assets and inventory
  • Perform and review the reconciliation of fixed asset subsidiary ledger balance with general ledger
  • Coordinate fixed asset additions and disposals with various departments
  • Obtain Olive Group Inventory reports and ensure amounts are properly recorded in Costpoint
  • Prepare monthly account analysis and research to ensure accuracy and understanding of account balances and activity
  • Prepare and review monthly general ledger account reconciliations for assets accounts and ensure their timely completion
  • Supervises department staff to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Resolves issues that are escalated through direct reports
  • Assist with interim and year-end audits
  • Participate in special projects as required
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred
  • Six years of experience in a high transaction environment and prior experience in a supervisory capacity required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with Deltek/Costpoint a must.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite and advanced skills in MS Excel
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion.
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
