Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide security for the personnel, property and visitors of Dallas County Courts and Tax Offices.

PAY TRANSPARENCY/ COMPENSATION:

  • $21.00 per hour
  • Retirement Allowance 401(k) Savings Plan

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Protect personnel and property in a professional manner
  • Meet and deal tactfully and politely with general public and visitors
  • Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors
  • Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations
  • Conduct internal and external roving foot patrols
  • Complete all reports and paperwork as required
  • Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary.
  • Must be able to wear protective body armor as a part of the duty uniform.
  • Maintain mandated training requirements in accordance with company guidance.
  • Maintain physical fitness, agility requirements, and weapons qualifications.
  • Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices.
  • Support safety programs Participate in Quality and Process Improvement programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must  have successfully completed the state of Texas approved Armed Security Officer training courses
  • Must possess the required state of Texas permits and licensure such as the Commissioned officer Guard License
  • Must be a  U.S. Citizen or Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English 
  • Must be 21 or older
  • Must have valid state driver’s license
  • Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet all medical and physical standards as outlined in the contract
  • Meet extensive background screening and suitability requirements; no arrest record
  • Must pass a drug screening

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is typically based in a busy indoor environment or outdoor parking garage environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours consists of shifts Monday-Friday from 6:50am to 4:00pm 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 4:00 pm to midnight or midnight to 8:00 am with weekends open for some overtime. There is also a four day shift 6:00pm-6:00am with two hours overtime included weekly.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to walk unassisted for a minimum of 300 yards, climb stairs and be able to lift and carry 20 pounds. May be subject to outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures and weather or warm temperatures indoors. Subject to high noise levels. Must be able to wear protective vest at all times during your shift. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, or stretching throughout the workday. Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract
