POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Construction Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in overseeing the daily supervision, direction, and coordination of assigned construction work activities. This position will be responsible for employees, and subcontractors on a project jobsite to safely produce quality work, within project requirements, targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with Centerra’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Additionally, will be managing assigned projects in all aspects including financial, compliance, training, purchasing, subcontracting, invoicing, and operational requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage operations and budget expenditures for assigned projects
- Instrumental in the development of scope, cost, and schedule
- Liaison with all company subcontractors, vendor change orders and support groups for program requirements
- Ensure project is run within specification, measured against cost, schedule and performance
- Assists in the preconstruction and buy-out process
- Draft accurate scopes of work to be included in subcontracts and/or purchase order agreements
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of the project plan and updates
- Monitor material and equipment deliveries/shipping commitments to ensure project team is aware of status and potential project schedule impacts
- Ensure subcontract agreements and amendments are issued
- Contribute to the project completion on time or ahead of schedule and with the expected level of profitability
- Oversee RFI process if necessary; coordinates with project team; verifies impact and pricing
- Complete monthly project status reports (MPSR), owner billings and financial risk assessments
- Assists with project proposals and presentations as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- A BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field. Experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
- A minimum of three (3) years of construction project management experience is required (Supervisor, Superintendent, etc), A combination of equivalent work experience and a graduate degree in the field may be qualifying
- Must have a valid passport
- Relocation/Long-Term travel to GTMO is required for up to one year or duration of project assignment
- Experience in Federal, DoD and DOS contract, preferred
- OSHA 10 or 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire
- EM385 Knowledge is preferred or the willingness to obtain upon hire
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Email, Excel, Word, Project)
- Effective oral and written communication skills with ability to give direction downwards and discuss other items with more senior personnel
- Ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
- Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to learn other software (ex: JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, Asta). Training will be provided
- Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, AutoCAD) preferred. Training can be provided

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically a combination of construction job site (Outdoors) and office environment (Indoors). Business work hours are dependent on the schedule, which includes evenings and weekends, Travel is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift, lower, carry, push or move objects up to 25lbs. Various tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sitting, and the ability to walk, reach, kneel, crouch and handle work related supplies and tools.
