POSITION SUMMARY
The prevention of unlawful interference with regard to the aviation operations at the Movcon terminals under the jurisdiction of the UN operations in Somalia (UNSOS). The provision of security services based on the policy guidance contained in the Somali NCASP and Standards and Recommended Practices of ICAO Annex 17 and DOC 8973, and in compliance with the relevant UN air operations Policies.
To provide subject matter expertise, specific to task and deliver training and professional development for project staff in order to meet ICAO and SCAA regulations and directions. In addition, provide training and mentoring for UN, SCAA and any other non-commercial entities as directed by the client; Ensure that contractual compliance in accordance with identified KPIs is maintained and identify and exploit any and all commercial opportunities to the benefit of Olive Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver all required daily, weekly and monthly reports within the given time frame
- Maintain accurate records of all necessary operational data
- Create organize and maintain staff personal records
- Send required internal reports to the relevant company departments on a timely fashion.
- Deliver AVSEC training packages in a compliant and professional fashion
- Review the daily operational documentation
- Ensure all operational forms are correctly completed and correct any deficiencies.
- Monitor inspection, screening, searching of passengers and baggage in accordance with the international standards
- Organize initial response actions in security emergencies
- Apply principles and practices of leadership, motivation and communication skills
- Monitor implementation of standard operating procedures
- Allocate and assign security personnel to duties
- Assess security personnel job performances and supervise on-the-job training
- Ensure preparation, recording and submission of incident reports
- Develop and maintain liaison with other aviation security-related agencies, organizations and Entities
- Work in and move about an airport safely
- Communicate and cooperate with other airport agencies
- Control the movement of people and vehicles
- Recognize weapons and explosive/incendiary devices
- Inspect/screen/search passengers and baggage
- Respond to airport emergency situations
- Report any security breaches immediately as they happen to the senior management
- To deliver as and when required Avsec courses, including but not limited to:
- Basic Avsec course
- General Security Awareness course
- Level 2&3 Avsec courses
QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant and current national or international qualification in Aviation Security
- Appropriate management qualification
- Appropriate and current AVSEC instructor certification
- Specialist subject matter qualifications (desirable not essential)
The post incumbent should also have had significant experience in the following areas for a period of time:
- Operational Avsec duties
- Management and responsibilities for airport staff
- Team operations within a busy airport environment

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically based in a busy airport environment and subject to frequent interruptions. The post is covered on a rotational basis.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 35 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
