Construction Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The overall objective of this contract is to procure and deliver all equipment, implement all required operator and maintainer training, and Design and Build a permanent structure in the Land-locked Sahel Country. The Construction Manager (CM) will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities on the ground and coordination of all construction or engineering personnel on the ground. The CM will also ensure productivity and safety of all construction, engineering, or visiting personnel on the ground.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Two (2) years of management experience on construction projects in sub-Saharan Africa or other post-Conflict countries
• Two (2) years of management experience as the senior-most or second most-senior person on the ground for the project and would have titles such as Site Supervisor or Construction Manager
• At least two projects must be $1.5 million or greater in value
• Three (3) years of construction experience focusing on vertical construction with at least two (2) years of experience overseas in either sub-Saharan Africa or other post conflict countries

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in OCONUS austere environment, work environment includes working outside in heat that can exceed 100 degrees during the summer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must pass a standard physical examination that includes, medical history, height, weight, blood pressure. Must pass pre-employment drug testing and remain drug free for the duration of the contract. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. of equipment or stock inventory.
