Job Description


The Heavy Equipment Lead will perform organizational, intermediate level maintenance/modifications on military equipment and have managerial responsibilities.



Mannheim, Germany



  • Manage activities and personnel engaged in the full range of heavy wheeled equipment maintenance repair

  • Lead approximately 12 to 20 mechanics in either the TDA, Light, Medium, or Heavy Wheels shops
  • Possible deployment may be required to other sites to perform inspections and repairs on equipment that is either being issued out to or returned from using Units
  • Overtime work hours may be required

  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School graduate or equivalent 
  • MOS 91H or equivalent, preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience as a heavy equipment mechanic is required

  • 1-3 years’ leadership experience required

  • Military experience is preferred

  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret U.S. Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair

  • Knowledge of GCCS-A, FEDLOG and office program is a plus

  • Will be required to obtain a military driver’s license (OF 346)

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Work is typically based in a busy service center/maintenance garage environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety Standards. Normal work hours are 40 hours a week, however some extended or weekend hours may also be required.



May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 75 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
