The Contractor Working Dog (CWD) Trainer is responsible for the planning, supervision and training of CWD under the contract.

*Position will be located in Iraq

  • Ensure the CWD Training Program remains within the standards of the CWD contract
  • Train and manage multiple canines through the training process, from initial training through certification
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate, complete and current training records
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of training areas, exercise areas, obedience courses, training aids and any other training areas or equipment that are included in the kennel facility
  • Responsible for the security and accountability of sensitive items including canine training aids, equipment, company vehicles, canine trailers, company assets and resources
  • Maintain the cleanliness of training areas, company vehicles, canine trailers, resources and facilities
  • Assist when needed in instruction of new Handlers and Trainers
  • Perform operational searches as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with valid Passport
  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a K-9 Handler, two (2) of those years serving as an Explosive Detector Handler
  • Must have a K-9 Trainer certification from an accredited school
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to pass medical physical for deployment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook and Word
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
