Position Overview

Our armed, cleared officers provide physical security, fixed and roving patrols, access control, vehicle inspection, x-ray machines and magnetometer screening; Close Circuit TV (CCTV) monitoring; dispatch and visitor processing.

 

Compensation: $29.40/ Hour +$4.47 H&W

Responsibilities

Afternoon Lieutenant: ≈ 1400-2200 Monday through Thursday and 1200-2000 on Friday

        • Inspections done of posts and PSOs throughout the month.  Could involve traveling to outstate posts in a Company vehicle.
        • Delivery of: uniform orders, post supplies and company documents.
        • Manage post books (memos, duty book, company folder).
        • Collect end of the month paperwork from all posts.
        • Teach SMART Book training if necessary.
        • Fill open shifts during on call weekend.
        • Issue discipline.
        • Assist with new hire training when needed.
        • Filling call-offs, and filling shifts as needed.
        • Will need to obtain a Top Secret clearance through the Company to have the ability to visit the FBI post in MN.
        • Issuing, ordering and keeping an accurate inventory of all Company uniforms and equipment.
        • Other duties as assigned by the Captain and/or the Contract Manager.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or legally eligible to work in the United States or Lawful Permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or who possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component the United States Armed Forces. Ability to pass a NRA firearms qualification course.
  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration, which bears the individuals name and social security number.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of security (armed) or law enforcement experience; OR A minimum of two (2) years of honorable service as a member of any U.S. Armed Forces component.
  • Firearms training and firearms qualifications, and company certifications meet state/federal certifications.
  • Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.
  • Familiarity with securing facilities and/or vehicles at a fixed location.
  • Physically capable of standing a 12-hour post.
  • High School education or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam.
  • Ability to pass MRPT suitability requirements.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 200 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must have visual and audio acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, machines such as fire equipment and apparatuses, firearms and clearing barrels.
  • May be subject to outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures and weather
  • Subject to high noise levels
  • Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
  • May be required to be fitted for and/or wear a respirator
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, often without breaks, and may be required to climb stairs or ladders and walk up inclines and on uneven terrain.
  • Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract
  • Travel may be required
