Logistics Advisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics Advisor will assist the Kenyan Defense Force (KDF) to establish an online training and certification process, standard operating procedures (SOP), repair facilities in Isiolo, Thika, and Garissa, as well as develop a cadre of liaisons that can replicate the tasks managed the advisor. The Logistics Advisor will also develop a work plan that includes a breakdown of timelines, milestones, training schedules, and mentorship schedules while forecasting daily and weekly activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Three (3) years working in Sub-Saharan Africa or a post-conflict country

• Five (5) years of hands-on experience working as an enlisted member or officer of the U.S. military in a logistics MOS at the S-4 or equivalent section, with at least two (2) years working at the Brigade or equivalent Staff level

• Two (2) years of experience developing and delivering training modules to foreign militaries

• Four (4) years of experience with supply sourcing systems and military resourcing systems

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in OCONUS austere environment, work environment includes working outside in heat that can exceed 100 degrees during the summer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must pass a standard physical examination that includes medical history, height, weight, blood pressure. Must pass pre-employment drug testing and remain drug free for the duration of the contract. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. of equipment or stock inventory.
