Job Description



The Senior Manager, Special Projects will support proposal development and the marketing and communications departments. Responsibilities will include leading proposal volumes or sections assigned as an author, content contributor, and/or subject matter expert. The candidate will work independently and as part of a team to support the pursuit sales process and develop value propositions to enhance the company’s competitive win position and ultimately grow new strategic business opportunities for the company. The Senior Manager, Special Projects will support the marketing and communications department with strategic content development and brand enhancement initiatives. They will manage and/or coordinate special projects of strategic importance to the corporation.



  • Lead and support relevant strategic initiatives
  • Execute assigned pursuit efforts in collaboration with business development and project management/operational leadership to develop value propositions and enhance the company’s competitive win position
  • Create and implement project and action plans that respond to challenges and issues
  • Identify and document solutions to create a competitive advantage to win new work
  • Consult with business development and operational teams to collect data and prepare collateral
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and assist in the preparation and execution of non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, or subcontractor agreements
  • Develop and present customer relationship strategies
  • Present strategic marketing recommendations
  • Develop strategic content brand enhancement initiatives in accordance with marketing communication strategy and programs
  • Design, develop, and distribute consistent themes, messaging, and branding throughout all communications
  • Maintain central database of proposal and marketing collaterals along with key metrics related to specific pursuits
  • Perform market research including market trends, opportunity analysis, client profile, and competitor identification
  • Lead internal analysis including technical and management for assigned markets or opportunities and special projects
  • Perform quality assurance to ensure accuracy, persuasiveness, and compliance of final proposal and presentation documents
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Master’s degree required or higher in related field
  • Minimum 9 years’ experience as a pursuit professional, in marketing, business development, or sales
  • Expert technical writing abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert knowledge with Microsoft Office suite strongly preferred
  • Expert presentation skills

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. 




May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
