POSITION SUMMARY

UAS Operators will perform as CONUS Instructor and might deploy for land based or ship missions. All candidates should be willing and able to work in a high-threat environment under austere conditions and pass pre-deployment medical screening (CENTCOM MOD 15). A battery of aptitude tests and system currency or training will be conducted which the candidate must pass. Personnel may be expected to deploy on various contracts and meet mission requirements as required by the Program Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform pre-flight checklists and participate in mission briefings
• Review airspace requirements and operate systems safely and within requirements of applicable flight regulations as required by the OEM, Military, unit and specific location requirements
• Operate UAS and monitors UAS “health” systems; respond to emergency procedures as required
• Operate various sensor systems as required by the mission
• Participate in post mission debriefing; complete appropriate forms and prepare for following days operations
• • Utilize checklist and appropriate operations manuals to operate the UAV safely
  • Assist with the development of training material in order to teach potential candidates how to operate the designated VTOL platform.
  • Deliver a period of instruction in a classroom environment to teach potential candidates how to operate the designated VTOL platform.
  • Assist with various maintenance actions as required by the training element or the Site Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior UAS Operator or manned aviation experience required
• 2+ years UAS Operator or manned aviation experience preferred
• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
• Ability to work independently and in a small team environment
• Willingness to travel no less than 6 months out of every year (CONUS and OCONUS)
• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass pre-deployment medical and dental screenings (CRC/NDC)
• Strong computer literacy

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is based in a classroom environment while CONUS. If selected for the instructor role, relocation to the Moyock, North Carolina area is required. Some OCONUS locations may require work to be performed in an austere environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Work outside and in inclement weather conditions may be required. OCONUS deployment rotations will be 120-180 days. Work hours are based on a twelve (12) hour workday, seven days per week.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 70 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
