Job Description



Strength and Conditioning Specialist will establishing and administering effective strength and conditioning protocols designed to reduce injuries and improve athletic participation and physical readiness by providing a holistic and sports science-based training and recovery program for all employees.



  • Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises, movements, and injury avoidance
  • Design, administer, evaluate, and document effects of physical training protocols for Task Order employees under the supervision of the Operations Medical Doctor and/or Vice President of the Division
  • Develop and administer a comprehensive Functional Movement Screening Program for all employees that focuses on identifying risk factors, implementing training improving performance and reducing injuries.
  • Coordinate training programs with employees to ensure safe and expeditious recovery after injury
  • Communicate and collaborate with the OMD and Lead Medics for injury prevention and performance-based nutrition to ensure a holistic approach to performance
  • Assist OMD, VP and Lead Medics with developing exercise standard operating procedures, guidelines, and training protocols including the safe use of strength and conditioning equipment
  • Participate in periodic meetings to review and evaluate training programs, injuries, injury prevention initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain all required certifications to include continuing education credits
  • Lead and oversee exercise and gym safety initiatives
  • Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records, providing reports and updates on progress of the overall program
  • Develop and disseminate training materials, workout tips and train employees
  • Be proficient in the use of computers, software, and modern communication technologies
  • Assist employees during fitness exercises to train proper form and lifting techniques. Correct form as needed to reduce injuries
  • Be present in fitness facilities during high traffic times to monitor safe fitness practices
  • Other duties as assigned



  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Fluent in oral and written English language
  • Must possess a DOS MRPT Clearance or have the ability to obtain one
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited exercise science, health science or physical education related discipline
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Possess and maintain current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or the Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCA) (preferred)
  • Possess, maintain or be able to obtain certification in SFMA Level 1 and FMS Level 2
  • Minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) of developing long and short-range planning and coordination of sport/mission specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the collegiate, professional, Olympic or SOF level
  • Current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
  • Physical proficiency to demonstrate all prescribed exercises / techniques and to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments
  • Prior military and/or SOF experience preferred

Work is typically based in a busy office/campus environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Normal business work schedule is 6 days a week, 12 hours a day, however some extended or off day hours may be required. The successful candidate will be able to determine optimal hours during the workday to accommodate the busy schedules of the employees on site.




May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
