POSITION OVERVIEW:

Successful candidate will manage facilities related projects, to include, but not limited to, tenant improvements, renovations, maintenance, and repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to the Sergeant Lieutenant and Captain/Site manager, maintaining good morale with the work force and the client, promoting a professional image and approach to the business.
  • Support the supervisors by patrolling thru the Housing, Hangar and Exchange Complex, also to include the Ramey School grounds and the lighthouse grounds.
  • Assist in the distribution of day-to-day activities of the security officers equipment and assigning duty stations to post.
  • Oversight of working schedules of supervisors and officers shift/date changes in accordance with the CBA and mitigating any overtime as per Company’s Standards.
  • Engages in improvement of operational goals, maintaining and organizing all shift rotations and personnel.
  • The position will require a rotating working schedule, as deemed necessary by management or operations this schedule will be re arranged.
  • Will be directly supervising the Security Officer for their completion of all related post duties, incident reports, client proprietary and required documentation.
  • Notify all schedule changes to the Lieutenant prior any scheduling of overtime for Security Officers.
  • Will secure records of all last minutes call in, late arrivals and sick or military leave requests. Forward to the Captain /Site Manager for approval of vacation leave requests.
  • Immediately report to the Captain any incidents of unethical or unlawful behavior.
  • Refer all known or suspected violations of clients and company policy and seeks advice from the Captain/ Site Manager, Lieutenant or designated representatives as appropriate for resolution.
  • Assist USCG Security Forces personnel or USCG representatives.
  • Provides all company and/or client memorandums, notices and related security bulletins and documents to the workforce to read. Will follow up with Lieutenant and Captain with feedback regularly on policy changes.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned by Operations Directors, Site Manager/Captain.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good communication skills, in English both oral and written, are essential for the position.
  • The job requires someone with critical thinking skills who can quickly observe a situation and make the appropriate response.
  • Minimum of 2 years of personnel experience. Must have prior Security Force or Services experience.
  • Military or Law Enforcement or Security Force experience preferred.
  • Current Puerto Rico Security Guard Permit. If in process of renewal, need to provide evidence.
  • Current Puerto Rico Gun License with Carrying Permit. If in process of renewal, need to provide evidence.
  • Valid Puerto Rico Driver’s license, driver’s record must be provided.
  • High School Diploma GED or equivalent. Higher Education encouraged.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 200 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must have visual and audio acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, machines such as fire equipment and apparatuses, firearms and clearing barrels.
  • May be subject to outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures and weather
  • Subject to high noise levels
  • Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
  • May be required to be fitted for and/or wear a respirator
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, often without breaks, and may be required to climb stairs or ladders and walk up inclines and on uneven terrain.
  • Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract
  • Travel may be required

Armed Security Officer – Puerto Rico

SUMMARY:

  • You will be a part of one of the largest elite security companies in the world, providing safety for Federal property, staff, and visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Protect personnel and property in a professional manner
  • Meet and deal tactfully and politely with public and visitors
  • Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors
  • Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations
  • Conduct internal and external roving foot patrols
  • Traffic control
  • Ability to maintain excellent detection rate on x ray machine
  • Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies
  • Secure entrances and exits during emergencies
  • Control keys and lock combinations
  • Communicate and remain accessible via two-way radio or company issued cellular phone
  • Understand and comply with all requirements defined within company documents to include Post and General Orders, plans, policies, procedures.
  • Observe and report all offenses/incidents
  • Complete all reports and paperwork as required
  • Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary.
  • Must be able to wear protective body armor as a part of the duty uniform.
  • Maintain mandated training requirements in accordance with company guidance.
  • Maintain physical fitness, agility requirements, and weapons qualifications.
  • Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices.
  • Support safety programs Participate in Quality and Process Improvement programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, in-person attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a United States citizen; or Lawful permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or who possess a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component of the United States Armed Forces
  • Must have been issued a social security card
  • Must hold a state firearms permit
  • Must hold a state security guard license
  • Must have verifiable documentation of a least one experience level and at least one educational level or any reasonable combination listed below:
    • Experience
      • A minimum of two (2) years of security (armed) or law enforcement experience; or
      • A Minimum of two (2) years of honorable service as a member of any U.S. Armed Forces Component.
    • Education
      • Received a High School Diploma from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or as identified on a DD 214; or
      • Received a General Equivalency Diploma from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or as identified on a DD 214; or
      • A minimum of 60 credit hours, in a related field, from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education: or
      • Successful completion of a federal/state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer’s standard training course that may result in a law enforcement appointment of commission
  • Must fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English. Must be able to pass an English Language Assessment Test.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 Years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, physical and fitness examinations, background screening and the Protective Security Officer Training course
