RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide security for various buildings by conducting perimeter security, internal security, monitoring screens, etc.
  • Protect personnel and property in a professional manner
  • Meet and deal tactfully and politely with general public and visitors
  • Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors
  • Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations
  • Conduct internal and external roving foot patrols
  • Traffic control as necessary
  • Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies
  • Secure entrances and exits during emergencies
  • Control keys and lock combinations
  • Communicate and remain accessible via two-way radio or company issued cellular phone
  • Understand and comply with all requirements, plans, policies, procedures.
  • Observe and report all offenses/incidents
  • Complete all reports and paperwork as required
  • Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary.
  • Maintain mandated training requirements in accordance with company guidance.
  • Maintain physical fitness, agility requirements, and weapons qualifications.
  • Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, in-person attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a Social Security Card
  • Possess at least one of the following experience/education criteria:
    • Minimum three (3) years unarmed security experience
    • Minimum one (1) years armed security experience
    • Minimum two (2) years in the U.S. Armed Services (including reserve or national guard),
    • Any combination of two (2) years’ experience in physical security and service with the U.S. Armed Services
    • Associates Degree in Security or Law Enforcement related field with unarmed security experience
  • Possessed BSIS Guard Card
  • CPR/AED/1st Aid Certification
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and reporting writing skills in English
  • Training skills to develop personnel, understand and perpetuate succession planning (Mentoring) and demonstrate leadership
  • Ability to counsel and discipline in effective manner in both negative and positive situations
  • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses in personnel and communicate corrective solutions
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times and command presence to convey authority in security situations
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must meet all medical, physical, psychological and drug test standards as outlined in the contract. Some travel required. Mileage reimbursed for travel to areas outside of the scope of normal commute standards as dictated in contract’s Statement of Work. Position requires sitting for long periods of time and continuous computer use. Must be able to use hands and wrists for typing and computer usage for long periods of time. Range Safety Officer (Part-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Range Safety Officer will be responsible for coordinating the daily range schedule and general maintenance of the ranges. 

 

PAY TRANSPARANCY/COMPENSATION 

 

Hourly Rate – $22.00 an hour

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate daily range usage
  • Ensure check in/out procedures are followed by all customers
  • De-conflict range schedule when needed
  • Inspect ranges for proper upkeep and repair 
  • Ensure deficiencies are corrected
  • Ensure ranges are in proper working condition and a supply of targets and props are available
  • Perform general range maintenance when repairs are needed
  • Maintain familiarity with OSHA regulations.  
  • Enforce general safety standards in accordance with Company standards

POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The Motor Pool Service Advisor is responsible for performing various administrative services and providing general administrative support in maintaining the records associated with the day-to-day operations for all County fleet vehicles. 

 

Pay Range: $22.00 – $26.00

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manages motor pool fleet and assist with all county vehicles
  • Open and close work orders and dispatch for all County vehicle fleet
  • Answer phones and route accordingly 
  • Documenting phone calls and vehicle information into M5 software
  • Giving approval, keying repairs, and processing invoices for payment 
  • Ability to professionally interact with customers, colleagues, and command members at all levels; and to foster positive business relationships

K9 Regional Trainer

POSITION SUMMARY 

 

Regional Trainer will be responsible for overseeing the Handlers to ensure cargo screenings are done in compliance with TSA rules and regulations. 

  •  Pay range is $78k-$82k annually
  • Training rate will be compensated at $15 per hour

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide supervision and training to assigned Handlers and canines related to operational searches and training 
  • Perform canine training, audits and administrative deliverables as required for assigned Canine Teams 
  • Schedule and conduct reoccurring train teams for recertification’s and remedial, sustainment, and advancement training 
  • Provide temporary certified Handler duties as required for the program 
  • Participate in CCSP related training to search cargo and identify explosive threats 
  • Perform temporary Handler duties while commanding a trained explosive working dog as required for the program 
  • Responsible for maintaining training records, care, and maintenance of assigned certified canine. The assigned canine must be permitted to live inside the employee’s residence.  The employee’s residence must be adequate, indoor, and climate-controlled for the canine.  The canine living area at the employee’s residence is subject to reoccurring inspections. 
  • Develop and follow established training protocols in accordance with statements of work and standard operating procedures 
  • Arrange operational exercises in order to replicate real life operational scenarios and enable canines to work independently in high population density environments with people moving to and from mass transit environments 
  • Transport, secure, and account for canine training aids, equipment, company vehicles, canine trailers, company assets, and resources 
  • Assist when needed in instruction of new Handlers and Trainers 
  • Must maintain all job-related certifications and required security clearances

  • Must have adequate transportation to transport assigned Canine and Crate (inside the vehicle) to/from assigned work location; transportation must have operational climate control 
  • Must be able to pass the applicable Contract Testing and Certifications for the program within four to six weeks of employment; candidate must maintain the certification requirements 
  • Demonstrated experience in solving unique training problems with detection dogs and team and knowledgeable of how to evaluate and apply canine training principles, conditioning and standards

POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The Jr. Handler is responsible with screening cargo in compliance with TSA rules and regulations. The Jr. Handler is required to complete a 4–8 weeks minimum team training course and certification prior to mobilization to the assigned location. 

  • Pay rate is $25-$28 per hour
  • Training rate is compensated at $20.22 per hour

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Participate in CCSP related training to search cargo and identify explosive threats 
  • Conduct authorized representative duties related to X-Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection as needed 
  • Perform Handler duties while commanding a trained explosive working dog 
  • Responsible for maintaining training records 
  • Responsible for maintaining training records, care, and maintenance of assigned certified canine. The assigned canine must be permitted to live inside the employee’s residence.  The employee’s residence must be adequate, indoor, and climate-controlled for the canine.  The canine living area at the employee’s residence is subject to reoccurring inspections.

Diesel Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Heavy Bus Technician repairs, overhauls and maintains automotive equipment, heavy equipment and vehicles.

 

  • Pay Range: $28.00 – $34.00

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform skilled repair and maintenance on a variety of gasoline-powered and diesel equipment and vehicles, such as fire apparatus and vehicles, loaders, cranes, crawlers, dub grinders, bucket trucks, pavers, rollers, sweepers and others
  • Replace bearings, axles seats, brake master cylinders, resurface brake drums/rotors, etc.
  • Disassemble components, inspect part for wear
  • Repair, overhaul, replace and rebuild water and fuel pumps, air conditioning components, compressors, radiators, etc.
  • Rewire electrical systems
  • Replace, realigns and adjust brakes and suspension components
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions to all systems
  • Overhaul gasoline and diesel engines
  • Tune and perform repairs to diesel engines
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic systems; route and replace lies, and check system for leaks
  • Perform routine vehicle equipment preventative maintenance inspections; checking and replacing fluids, check lights and other electrical system components, and replace exhaust system components

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/Technical training in automotive and diesel repair with 3-5 years of automotive and heavy equipment repair experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Must have a valid CA Driver’s License
  • CDL Class A or B preferred or must be able to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • ASE T4 preferred or must be able to obtain within 90 days of hire

Boat Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Boat Technician works independently at the Marina del Rey and other County dock facilities maintaining a fleet of patrol boats and supporting equipment. The scope of boat repairs includes engine replacements, troubleshooting, repairing components and replacement as needed. Recommends upgrades, conducts operational tests and body repairs.

  • Pay rate: $33.56

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleaning, repairing and maintaining all parts of the boat, vessel and jet skies.
  • Reading through repair and installation orders to determine the material, time, and equipment required.
  • Proper disposal of repair parts, old paint, barnacles and trash – debris from vessels
  • Removing and replacing rotted or rusted sections of the vessel
  • Constructing replacement parts using drawings, saws and various hand and power tools
  • Testing engines, propellers, steering and navigational equipment.
  • Mixing and applying paint, wax and gel coats and fiber glass repairs
  • Liaising and consulting with the supervisor and other relevant professionals and vendors
  • Submits daily report work-log and parts inventory report.
  • Required to perform maintenance on other equipment such as jet skies, trailers, quads and others

Background Investigator -PT-Intermittent

Position:  Intermittent Employee – Employee

Pay Rate $20-$40 an hour

 

Responsibilities:

 

Conduct federal background investigations and prepare reports of investigations in compliance with Federal Investigative Standards, all laws, and other required federal agency regulations. Work cases throughout the geographic area of responsibility and travel to various places of employment, residence and education institutions.

 

Candidate must be local to Metropolitan LA County, CA 

 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship;
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 1 year within the last five (5) years of investigations experience at the federal, state, or local level of government;
  • Must have some mix of NBIB/DCSA/FIS Experience;
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record;
  • Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane);
  • Successfully pass background checks and all required training;
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram, or schedule form;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence;
  • Ability to work in a MS Window based operating environment, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and E-mail;
  • Current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Secret level security clearance based on an SSBI and able to obtain the required security clearance.

  Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct in-person, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain factual information about the individual’s background and character, in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Obtain factual information from a variety of personal and record sources to produce a report of investigation that contains all pertinent facts of an individual’s background and character in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility to conduct investigations at various places of employment, residence, and education institutions when cases become available.
  • Must be willing to travel in and around assigned location within 30-50 miles (or more) as needed
  • Engage in dialogue on a regular basis with managers and representatives at contractor facilities, various U. S. Government organizations, and law enforcement agencies to develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Adapt to changing situations and environments as they occur and be able to interact with people from all walks of life and socioeconomic levels.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills and exhibit professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Work load based on availability of cases in geographic area.
  • Some voluntary, temporary duty assignments in other areas of the country (typically 2-4 weeks at a time) are possible.
  • Other duties as required.

 Desired Experience and Education:

  • Office of Personnel Management investigator training.
  • Prior background investigations experience supporting government contracts.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Current Top Secret clearance

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is typically based in the investigator’s home office as well as in the investigator’s personal vehicle traveling to various field locations to conduct interviews. Coverage area varies and could include some extended drives. Work hours vary depending on availability of leads and do not always fall within normal business hours, to include potential weekend hours or third-shift appointments.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires intermittent standing, writing/typing, walking, sitting, and driving throughout the workday, and may include for multiple hours.
