Background Investigator – Fairfax, VA

POSITION: Background Investigator

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct federal background investigations and prepare reports of investigations in compliance with ICD 704 standards, all laws, and other required federal agency regulations. Work cases throughout the geographic area of responsibility and travel to various places of employment, residence and education institutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizenship;
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum of One (1) year within the last ten (10) years of investigations experience at the federal, state, or local level of government;
  • Experience conducting one-on-one subject interviews is required;
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record;
  • Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane);
  • Successfully pass background checks and all required training;
  • Current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Secret level security clearance based on an SSBI and able to obtain the required security clearance.

Access Control

POSITION SUMMARY

 

THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION WEEKEND SHIFTS:  5:30 am to 1:30 pm, 1:30 pm – 9:30 pm  and 9:30 pm to 5:30 am

 

This position provides Access Control and Escort support for the facility.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Security patrols, access control, security related personnel escort duties, traffic, parking control, law and order duties, as well as security and fire safety surveillance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Must have the required Top Secret level clearance with FS Polygraph that is current and can be verified.

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two (2) years of access control and/or security officer experience;
  • Read, speak, and understand English language fluently;
  • Ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms.
  • Successfully pass an employment physical.
  • Successfully pass all training and obtain required certifications.
  • Successfully pass criminal record and credit report checks.
  • Successfully complete a security interview.

Access Control

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Provide security protection and access control.
  • Provide security protection for all government property, classified material and personnel within assigned areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, theft, or intentional destruction.
  • Report/respond to unusual or emergency situations.
  • Be alert for potential security, property or safety concerns and initiate the appropriate actions.
  • Control ingress/egress into and/or out of posted/controlled/security areas.
  • Prevent/report all violations of security and safety rules and regulations.
  • Respond to protective alarm signals or other unusual/suspicious activities.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all security and guard orders, written and oral, pertaining to the assigned duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Site Lead Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY 

 

BAS Site Lead manages communications with the onsite customer and serves as lead for the contractor. The Site Lead works with the team to provide physical security, fixed and roving patrols, access control, vehicle inspection, x-ray machines and magnetometer screening; Close Circuit TV (CCTV) monitoring; dispatch; visitor processing; VIP protection; and administrative services

Security Control Center Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Support Aerospace Security Control Center Operations which act as the communication and response coordination control hub.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares a variety of vital reports that ensure the safety and security of all on- site personnel
  • Performs daily equipment checks of all security equipment in the Security Control Center
  • Monitor computerized intrusion detection and access control system, multiple CCTV cameras,  emergency  phone  line(s),  fire  alarm  panel,  and  facility environmental control system
  • Operate computerized patrol tour and key control systems, radios, automated public address system, and other SCC security-related equipment
  • Provides command,  control,  and  communication  support  for  both  routine security  events  and   
  • Serves an  informational  interface  with  the public, employees, management, government, and security forces under both normal  and  emergency   
  • In charge  of  administering  messages  to employees using the emergency mass notification system
  • Monitors and  provides  oversight  of  all  executive  transports  to  and  from  the Aerospace campus

Training Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY

Full Time Training Instructor of Armed Security Protective Officers. Serve as the designated Instructor for a specific site in Virginia. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide instruction for Firearms and Tactics courses utilizing prescribed curriculum.
  • Update course curriculum as directed by the Training Manager and/or management staff.
  • Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions. 
  • Teach and design effective customized training courses/programs (Site Specific Training).
  • Develop a schedule to assess training needs.
  • Track and compile collected data.   
  • Explain and demonstrate use of apparatus and equipment assigned to the site for training purposes. 
  • Evaluate the abilities of individual participants to determine suitable corrective or remedial training.
  • Maintain overall safety and organization of the training environment.
  • Ensure the safety of students. Communicates and supervises compliance under the direction of the Training Manager with company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure accountability for all training equipment.
  • Identify in a timely manner training requirements needed to maintain required certifications and company standards and complete all required continuing education and refresher training programs.
  • Complete any additional training and/or certifications required by the government or the contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five (5) years of training experience in civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement, or commercial/industrial security force service.
  • Clearance requirements: TS/SCI and must be able to obtain a CI Poly and hold TS/SCI with Poly.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Windows based computers and Microsoft applications (i.e., MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word). 
  • Possess appropriate certifications to perform First Aid, CPR, AED, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Baton, OC Spray, and Firearms Instruction.
  • Completion of an approved and accredited Principles of Instruction course and Firearms Training through (e.g., NRA, a Police Academy, State POST Academy, FLETC or military training course) preferred.

  • Must have some mix of NBIB/DCSA/FIS Experience;

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-person, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain factual information about the individual’s background and character, in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Obtain factual information from a variety of personal and record sources to produce a report of investigation that contains all pertinent facts of an individual’s background and character in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility to conduct investigations at various places of employment, residence, and education institutions as cases are assigned.
  • Must be willing to travel in and around assigned location within 30-50 miles (or more) as needed
  • Engage in dialogue on a regular basis with managers and representatives at contractor facilities, various U. S. Government organizations, and law enforcement agencies to develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Adapt to changing situations and environments as they occur and be able to interact with people from all walks of life and socioeconomic levels.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills and exhibit professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Work load based on availability of cases in geographic area.
  • Some voluntary, temporary duty assignments in other areas of the country (typically 2-4 weeks at a time) are possible.

Desired Experience and Education:

  • Office of Personnel Management investigator training.
  • Prior background investigations experience supporting government contracts.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides quality instruction to Omniplex customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides classroom instruction including unarmed DCJS training and client directed training for familiarization with client procedures and systems. Train personnel utilizing the Master Training Plan (MTP) for the Chantilly and Stoneridge clusters utilizing the prescribed contract curriculum.

  • Evaluates the abilities of individual participants to determine suitable corrective or remedial training.
  • Maintains overall safety and organization of the training environment.
  • Ensures safety of students. Communicates and oversees compliance with company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Ensures accountability for all training equipment.
  • Identifies in a timely manner training requirements needed to maintain required certifications and company standards and completes all required continuing education and refresher training programs.
  • Completes any additional training and/or certifications required by the AWS Client or contract managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Practical training experience as an instructor in Security, Law Enforcement and/or Military Special Operations recommended buy not required.
  • Must pass background investigation, physical, drug, screening.
  • Computer literate with basic proficiency in MS Office required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion.
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
