Shift Supervisor (Lieutenant)

POSITION SUMMARY

 

SHIFT SUPERVISOR (LIEUTENANT) at DOE HQ. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Handles the day to day operations of assigned guard force in assigned area, ensuring all contractual requirements are met
  • Schedules officers’ time
  • Maintains order and discipline in accordance with established Rules of Personal Conduct and contractual agreements.
  • Ensures that officers have appropriate uniform and equipment.
  • Applicant must successfully complete or must have completed a DOE approved, or equivalent, Supervisor Development Course.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Applicant must have demonstrated four (4) years of commercial or Government experience of which at least the last three (3) years were of verifiable law enforcement, military or security related experience. 
  • Applicant must have experience in providing advice and assistance to management in the area of security police officer operations or has demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • At a minimum, the individual proposed must possess a DOE (Q) security clearance or must meet the eligibility requirements that will reasonably ensure a DOE (Q) clearance is obtained.
  • Applicant must meet and maintain DOE Security Police Officer I standards as defined by 10 CFR 1046 and DOE Orders and Directives.
  • Applicant must be certified in Central Alarm Station (CAS) operations or meet requirements that reasonably assure the individual will be certified within 90 days of assuming the position. 
  • Must be able to pass and maintain Physical and Drug Screen
  • Must have supervisor and conflict management skills (problem solving, good written and verbal communication)

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

SECURITY POLICE OFFICER

Location Assigned:  Germantown, MD; Forrestal Building, Washington, DC

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:        Applicant must possess a high school diploma or its state recognized equivalent.

 

Experience:      None (must be able to pass BSPOT course)

 

Clearance:         At a minimum, the individual proposed must possess a DOE (L) security clearance or must meet the eligibility requirements that will reasonably ensure a DOE (L) clearance is obtained.

 

Training:          Applicant must meet and maintain DOE Security Police Officer I standards as defined by 10 CFR 1046 and DOE Orders and Directives. 

 

 

 

Position Expectation:

  • Applicant must have demonstrated a working knowledge of access control, protection of classified information, facilities, property and other assets.

 

  • Applicant must be capable of communicating effectively both in oral and written Applicant must have demonstrated the ability to write reports and observations clearly and concisely.

SHIFT SERGEANT (SGT)

K-9 Handler

 POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Handler is responsible with conducting searches to identify explosive threats. The Handler is required to complete a 4–8 weeks minimum team training course and certification prior to mobilization to the assigned location.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in required training to search venues and identify explosive threats
  • Perform Handler duties while commanding a trained explosive working dog
  • Handler will be responsible for maintaining training records
  • Handler will be responsible for care and maintenance of assigned canine
  • Must maintain all job-related certifications and required security clearances
  • Must be willing to operate company vehicle (during on-site training)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • One to two years of documented experience handling an explosive detection dog in an operational environment
  • Must be able to pass the applicable Contract Testing and Certifications for the program within four to six weeks of employment; candidate must maintain the certification requirements
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record for the last three years
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Work conditions can vary from a busy training environment to field work, both subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Work hours will be dictated by the customers agreed upon schedule. Nights, weekends, and holiday hours will be required, and the work schedule will vary. Travel may also be required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 90 lbs. Requires standing for long periods of time in all weather conditions. Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, and kneeling. Responsibilities:

 

Basic administrative duties such as but not limited to, answering phones, greeting internal/external customers, computer tasks, and maintaining visitor log book, and issuing temporary visitor badges.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 yrs of age or older
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must successfully pass a credit & criminal background investigation to include previous employment and personal references.
  • Must have at least 1-2 yrs administrative experience with strong customer service skills.
