Unarmed Security Officer

POSITION SUMMARY

Unarmed security officers maintain a safe and secure environment at businesses, organizations, and residential properties. They patrol premises, perform access control, and investigate disturbances. They also monitor alarm systems and video surveillance cameras.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guard property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing and illegal entry.
  • Interacts with a variety of persons including clients, visitors, public safety officials, employees, and the general public in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Provides building and premises security to the client’s property.
  • Conducts patrols and security checks.
  • Provides effective access and egress control.
  • Regulates and directing traffic, as necessary.
  • Responds to alarm signals.
  • Is alert to observe, correct and report fire and safety hazards.
  • Promotes safety to prevent accidents.
  • Promotes employee-management relations, goodwill and public relations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule. Nights and weekends required. No M-F Day shifts available.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Minimum 18 years or older.
  • Must have a valid State Identification Card (ID)  
  • Read, speak, and understand English language fluently.
  • Ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms.
  • Must be able to pass all training and obtain required certifications to include Unarmed DCJS License, First Aid, and CPR.
  • Successfully pass criminal checks.

Training Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY

Full Time Training Instructor of Armed Security Protective Officers. Serve as the designated Instructor for a specific site in Virginia. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track and compile collected data.   
  • Explain and demonstrate use of apparatus and equipment assigned to the site for training purposes. 
  • Evaluate the abilities of individual participants to determine suitable corrective or remedial training.
  • Maintain overall safety and organization of the training environment.
  • Ensure the safety of students. Communicates and supervises compliance under the direction of the Training Manager with company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure accountability for all training equipment.
  • Complete any additional training and/or certifications required by the government or the contract.
  • Managethe site’s SPO Training Program; develop, prepare, and teach appropriate training programs; ensure proper inclusion in the Human Resources Training and Information System, Competency Management function and other training records; conduct and oversee all training for security personnel on assigned account; data entry, filing and records maintenance, ensure training compliance.
  • Ensurelaws and regulations that may affect the contract are reviewed and changes are implemented as necessary.
  • Preparecompliance reports to identify areas for improvement associated with contract specific policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Identify, conduct vetting, and establish relationships with local training academies in order to provide support in the form of external training opportunities.
  • Coordinates, develops, delivers and manages employee training and development programs; conducts need assessments identifies training needs; develops and/or customizes training courses, content and materials; oversees and delivers training; evaluates effectiveness, and makes adjustments as necessary to improve training outcomes.
  • Provide regular reports to management regarding training initiatives, scheduling, and effectiveness of employee and organizational development initiatives.
  • Developsand implements method of measuring the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Conductand facilitate training sessions, presenting information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
  • Assistthe Deputy Site Manager and Site Manager in the daily operations of the contract as required. 
  • Serve as the point of contact for onboarding and on job training for new SPO’s to site.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five (5) years of training experience in civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement, or commercial/industrial security force service.
  • Clearance requirements: TS/SCI and must be able to obtain a CI Poly and hold TS/SCI with Poly.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Windows based computers and Microsoft applications (i.e., MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word). 
  • Possess appropriate certifications to perform First Aid, CPR, AED, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Baton, OC Spray, and Firearms Instruction.
  • Completion of an approved and accredited Principles of Instruction course and Firearms Training through (e.g., NRA, a Police Academy, State POST Academy, FLETC or military training course) preferred.
  • DCJS 14E Firearms Instructor Certification is preferred.

Administrative Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Performs administrative and office support activities in a busy office environment. Duties will include data processing, creating detailed spreadsheets and presentations, proficiency in timekeeping, military time conversion, invoicing, billing and payroll for 105+ employees daily. Extensive software skills are required along with strong communication skills and problem-solving ability.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform detail-oriented tasks, within strict time constraints, to maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping.
  • Conduct quality control checks of all payroll entries weekly and initiate personnel related employee changes including, but not limited to, pay, direct deposit, etc.
  • Enter purchase requisitions and work to ensure requested equipment, uniforms or services are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Complete monthly invoices and provide data backups for submission.  
  • Create highly accurate, detailed spreadsheets and word documents to meet deliverable requirements.
  • Provide Administrative support to the Contract Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum three years of direct experience in administrative and or payroll functions within the past five years.
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
  • Must be a self-starter and work well with little direct supervision.  
  • Must be organized and be highly detail oriented.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.
  • Ability to interact and communicate, both oral and written, with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and remain focused on the overall mission under stressful situations.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports and invoices.
  • Preferred Experience: ADP, Deltek, Costpoint, Timekeeping,  and SAP Concur experience.

Experienced Background Investigator

Experienced Background Investigator – DCSA – Nationwide

POSITION: Experienced Background Investigator – DCSA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct federal background investigations and prepare reports of investigations in compliance with Federal Investigative Standards, all laws, and other required federal agency regulations. Work cases throughout the geographic area of responsibility and travel to various places of employment, residence, and education institutions.

$24.00 – $41.32/Hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizenship;
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 1 year within the last five (5) years of investigations experience on the OPM/NBIB/DCSA contract or similar contract utilizing Federal Investigative Standards (FIS);
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record;
  • Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane);
  • Successfully pass background checks and all required training;
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram, or schedule form;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence;

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Conduct in-person, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain factual information about the individuals’ background and character, in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Obtain factual information from a variety of personal and record sources to produce a report of investigation that contains all pertinent facts of an individual’s background and character in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility to conduct investigations at various places of employment, residence, and education institutions as cases are assigned.
  • Must be willing to travel in and around assigned location within 30-50 miles (or more) as needed.
  • Engage in dialogue on a regular basis with managers and representatives at contractor facilities, various U. S. Government organizations, and law enforcement agencies to develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Adapt to changing situations and environments as they occur and be able to interact with people from all walks of life and socioeconomic levels.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills and exhibit professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Work load based on availability of cases in geographic area.
  • Some voluntary, temporary duty assignments in other areas of the country (typically 2-4 weeks at a time) are possible.
  • Other duties as required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Current Top Secret clearance.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  

Work is typically based in the investigator’s home office as well as in the investigator’s personal vehicle traveling to various field locations to conduct interviews. Coverage area varies and could include some extended drives. Work hours vary depending on availability of leads and do not always fall within normal business hours, to include potential weekend hours or third-shift appointments.

Alarm Monitor Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Alarm Monitor position provides physical security, by monitoring a detection, intrusion monitoring system. Close Circuit TV (CCTV) monitoring; dispatch; visitor processing; and administrative services.

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform all duties of an Alarm Monitor.
  • Maintain daily duty log.
  • Conduct and record various checks and verifications.
  • Report suspicious activities and persons.
  • Operate Intrusion Detection system, fire alarm system, radio transmitter and receiver, and telephones: Receives incoming fire calls by telephone or through alarm system.
  • Questions caller observes alarm register.
  • Determines type and number of units to respond to alarms and/or emergencies.
  • Relays messages from emergency scene, such as requests for additional help and medical assistance.
  • Records date, time, type of call and destination of messages received or transmitted.
  • Maintains activity, code, and locator files.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • You must possess an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartment information with full scope polygraph before applying.
