Auto Tech I

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Automotive Technician I will perform preventative maintenance duties and assists with repairs to fleet vehicles and equipment.  

 

 Pay Range: $19.00 – $21.00

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventative maintenance duties such as changing oil, replacing filters, checking fluid levels, lubricating moving parts, checking tires, replacing burned out lights, checking and replacing belts/hoses
  • Check and repairs brakes
  • Rebuild small engines and repairs equipment
  • Pick up parts from suppliers
  • Perform minor welding repairs
  • Wash vehicles
  • Temporarily covering at another shop in your zone at certain times per year (for sick leaves, holidays, vacations, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required 
  • 1+ years of automotive repair and maintenance experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License
  • Must obtain ASE A5 Brakes Certifications within 90 days of hire
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Work is typically based in a busy service center/maintenance garage environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety Standards. Normal work hours are in two shifts, Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or Monday-Friday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may also be required. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Must be able to lift, lower, carry, push or move objects up to 75 lbs. Various tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sitting, and the ability to walk, reach, kneel, crouch and handle work related supplies and tools.

Experienced Background Investigator – DCSA

Experienced Background Investigator – DCSA – Nationwide

POSITION: Experienced Background Investigator – DCSA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct federal background investigations and prepare reports of investigations in compliance with Federal Investigative Standards, all laws, and other required federal agency regulations. Work cases throughout the geographic area of responsibility and travel to various places of employment, residence, and education institutions.

$22.00 – $41.32/Hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizenship;
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 1 year within the last five (5) years of investigations experience on the OPM/NBIB/DCSA contract or similar contract utilizing Federal Investigative Standards (FIS);
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record;
  • Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane);
  • Successfully pass background checks and all required training;
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram, or schedule form;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence;
  • Ability to work in a MS Window based operating environment, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and E-mail;
  • Current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Secret level security clearance based on an SSBI and able to obtain the required security clearance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Conduct in-person, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain factual information about the individuals’ background and character, in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Obtain factual information from a variety of personal and record sources to produce a report of investigation that contains all pertinent facts of an individual’s background and character in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility to conduct investigations at various places of employment, residence, and education institutions as cases are assigned.
  • Must be willing to travel in and around assigned location within 30-50 miles (or more) as needed.
  • Engage in dialogue on a regular basis with managers and representatives at contractor facilities, various U. S. Government organizations, and law enforcement agencies to develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Adapt to changing situations and environments as they occur and be able to interact with people from all walks of life and socioeconomic levels.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills and exhibit professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Work load based on availability of cases in geographic area.
  • Some voluntary, temporary duty assignments in other areas of the country (typically 2-4 weeks at a time) are possible.
  • Other duties as required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Current Top Secret clearance

WORKING CONDITIONS:  

Work is typically based in the investigator’s home office as well as in the investigator’s personal vehicle traveling to various field locations to conduct interviews. Coverage area varies and could include some extended drives. Work hours vary depending on availability of leads and do not always fall within normal business hours, to include potential weekend hours or third-shift appointments.

Requires intermittent standing, writing/typing, walking, sitting, and driving throughout the workday, and may include multiple hours.

Auto Tech III

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Automotive Technician III will repair, overhaul, and maintain fleet vehicles and equipment.

 

Pay Range: $30.00 – $35.00

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform skilled repair and maintenance on a variety of gasoline-powered equipment and vehicles such as replacing bearings, axle seals, brake master cylinders, resurfacing brake drums and rotors
  • Disassemble components and inspect part for wear
  • Repair, overhaul, replace and rebuild water and fuel pumps, air conditioning components, compressors, radiators, etc.
  • Rewire electrical systems
  • Replace, realign, and adjust brakes and suspension components
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions to all systems
  • Overhaul gasoline and diesel engines
  • Tune and perform repairs to diesel engines
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic systems; routes and replaces lies and checks system for leaks
  • Perform routine vehicle equipment preventative maintenance inspections; checking and replacing fluids, checks lights and other electrical system components, and replaces exhaust system components
  • Temporarily covering at another shop in your zone at certain times per year (for sick leaves, holidays, vacations, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/Technical training in automotive repair with 10 years of automotive repair experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License
  • Must supply your own tools
  • ASE A5 Brakes Certificate
  • May require possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (A, B or C with specific endorsements may be required)
  • Must possess two or more ASE Certifications ( ASE A1, ASE A2, ASE A3, ASE A4, ASE A6, ASE A7, ASE A8, ASE A9)
  • ASE T4 Heavy Vehicle Brake Certificate, preferred
  • ASE Master Automotive Technician and/or Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
