Weapons Based Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Weapons Based Instructors will provide U.S. Navy CENSECFOR students small arms and crew served weapons instruction.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide U.S. Navy CENSECFOR students small arms and crew served weapons instruction.
  • All weapons courses of instruction are identified by CENSECFOR as High-Risk Training and require the instructor to complete the Course Unique Instructor Training (CUIT) Certification process.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Must sign Lautenberg Amendment acknowledgement and receive a favorable background screening from a National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Check (NACLC)
  • Must have attended the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) (or military service equivalent), or hold academic credentialing (teacher/professor), or instructor training via Tidewater Community College course MILT 5100
  • Must possess a basic understanding of Military/Civilian Security Force techniques                                  
  • Must be qualified as a small arms weapon instructor                              
  • Preference for Weapons-Based Course Instructors to be qualified as crew served weapons instructors                      
  • For instructors who have the Non-Compliant Boarding, Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (NCB VBSS) (A-830-0395) course assigned as their primary course, possess or be able to qualify as a Second Class Swimmer in accordance with NETC P1552/16 (Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructors Manual)                                
  • Must complete Instructor Evaluation and Certification Process                            
  • Must have completed or complete primary course CUIT certification process                       
  • Must pass medical and 12 panel drug screening
  • Must receive favorable psychological evaluation in accordance with OPNAVINST 1500.75D                         
  • After hire, must complete 40-hour Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) certification, CPR/AED, Basic First Aid, and Blood-borne Pathogen Training

Swim Tester

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Navy Swim Testers/Lifeguards/CPR Instructors will test selected Master-at-Arms students for Second Class Swimmers prior to detachment from MA Class “A” School at NTTC Lackland AFB, TX. This will require a swim tester and lifeguards. When not conducting the swim test, these individuals will deliver CPR training as well as other non-weapons-based training.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Navy Swim Testers will conduct student pre-test administrative screening, coordinating with the NTTC Lackland administrative and medical staff. The Pre-screening Form (P1552/16) can be found in Appendix C of the Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructor/Swim Tester’s Manual (CNET P1552/16).
  • Administer the Navy Second Class Swimmer test in accordance with Chapter 12 of CNET P1552/16 to designated students. This testing shall include (but is not limited to): Conduct all pool-side safety checks to ensure that the pool and surrounding facilities are safe to conduct the test. Ensure all safety equipment is present and in satisfactory working condition for the administration of the swim test. At a minimum, the facility must have a telephone with posted emergency numbers, and a backup method of communication.
  • Perform lifeguard duties during swim testing Grade students in accordance with Chapter 13 of CNET P1552/16
  • Coordinate with NTTC Lackland Student Administrative Staff to document post-test results of successful/unsuccessful completion of the Second-Class Swim Test in the respective student records
  • Interface with NTTC Lackland staff and/or USAF/Joint Base San Antonio Swimming Pool staff in coordinating/scheduling use of the swimming pool(s)
  • Assist the MA Class A Instructor staff in administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) instruction
  • Assist in the delivery of MA Class “A” training in non-weapons modules after obtaining appropriate CUIT qualifications
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Clearance Required: NAC with Local Agency Check and Credit (NACLC) – Background
  • Must have attended the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) (or military service equivalent), or hold academic credentialing (teacher/professor), or instructor training via Tidewater Community College course MILT 5100
  • Must possess Navy NEC 9502/805A (Instructor) (or equivalency)                        
  • Must possess one (or more) of the following qualifications: Navy NEC 9504 (Naval Aviation Water Survival Instructor); or Navy NEC 9510 (Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructor); or Completion of Navy Swim Tester Course (A-012-0015)                        
  • Must possess current certification as a lifeguard. Lifeguard certification requires one of the following: Completion of one of the following courses of instruction: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training; or YMCA Lifeguard Training; or Ellis and Associates Water Park Training; or Possession of one of the following military qualifications: Navy NEC 0170 (Navy Rescue Swimmer – Surface), Navy NEC 532X (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training (BUD/S), Navy NEC 5345 (Navy Scuba Diver), Navy NEC 5350 (Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC) (Basic), Navy NEC 5352 (Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC) (Advanced), Navy NEC 7815 (Helicopter Search and Rescue Aircrew Swimmer), Navy NEC 9504 (Naval Aviation Water Survival Instructor), Navy NEC 9510 (Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructor), USMC MOS 0918 (Water Safety/Survival Instructor)                 
  • Must possess high personal standards of technical knowledge and professional competence in delivering training material
  • Must possess the ability to perform in a military environment
  • Must possess a familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the U. S. Navy, military rank/grade structure
  • Must possess a knowledge of Navy and military terminology, and shipboard/installation environments and configurations
  • Must possess knowledge of basic and advance training techniques and of computer technology applications as they apply to instructional delivery

Armed Guard

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Guard enforces regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security, exercises judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies, determining whether to intervene directly, ask for assistance as time permits, keep situation under control or surveillance, or to report incident or situation to the appropriate authority for handling.  Duties require specialized training in methods and techniques of protecting controlled areas.  

 

COMPENSATION

 

$30/hr

$2,500 Signing bonus!

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Escort of detainees in custody while present at medical treatment facilities, courtrooms, detention facilities, and any other guard services
  • Serves detainees prepared meals as required or directed
  • Conduct searches of holding cells and/or detainees as required or directed
  • providing security/escort at local medical facilities, for the duration of the detainee’s hospital care, restricting unauthorized public access to detainees.
  • Provides security as directed by TOMs to various locations throughout the facility
  • Performs searches of vehicles and persons as directed by the contract or contracting officer’s representatives.
  • Enforce regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security, exercise judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies.
  • Maintain the security of all areas by taking actions as required.
  • Take charge of your post by securing and protecting personnel and property for which you are responsible until properly relieved.
  • Comply with orders and instructions given. These responsibilities continue until relieved by proper authority.
  • Report all violations of orders you must enforce.
  • Give the alarm in case of disorder or emergency.
  • Report unusual events that threaten security or endangers life or property.
  • Take reasonable counteraction to save life and property or lessen danger. At the same time, you must maintain the security of your post and remain alert during the emergency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience as a law enforcement officer, corrections officer, or military police officer, a period of active-duty military experience (with holding an honorable discharge), or six months of experience as a security officer engaged in functions relating to detaining civil or administrative detainees
  • Possess Active Texas Level 3 Guard Card
  • US citizen and resided in the U.S. for the last five years
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language and ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms
  • Must be able to pass all training and obtain all required certifications.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Where required must be able to pass a background investigation to include but not limited to criminal, credit and driving record checks.
  • Must be able to pass US Government background investigation for required security clearance if necessary.  
  • Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968,
  • Obtain Federal Suitability Clearance applies.

Position will be 100% Remote. Candidates with experience supporting markets in Texas and Arizona are preferred.
