POSITION SUMMARY

Nationality Australian

The Project Manager oversees the performance of assigned teams of Personal Security Detail (“PSD”) or static guards in a hostile environment. This requires the Project Manager to take full responsibility for the operational preparation, rotational staffing and leadership of assigned personnel who may include Expatriates, Local Nationals (“LN”) and Third Country Nationals (“TCN”).

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Security Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for Contract delivery at Location and will

be the first in-country point of contact for the Department in all security related matters

pursuant to the Contract. The SPM will report to the Regional Security Officer(s).

The SPM must be accountable for delivering all aspects of the Services including:

·       Contract compliance;

·       Management of the Service Provider Personnel;

·       Attendance at weekly Regional Security Officer (RSO) meetings;

·       Achievement of the Performance Framework; and

·       Oversighting the planning and coordination of all operations and movement of 

·       vehicles, personnel and material.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The SPM must have:

  • At least five (5) years’ experience operating in high-risk environments delivering large security projects overseeing planning and protective security operations including static guarding, personal security, intelligence, threat assessment and CPP;
  • Previous military or law enforcement experience of not less than ten (10) years with an excellent record of conduct.
  • The SPM must not have a criminal record and must not have been dishonourably discharged from service or convicted under the Defence Force Disciplinary Act 1982 (Cth) (or equivalent) or terminated from employment;
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Experience with developing, and managing project teams
  • Experience with risk management including risk management planning and qualitative risk analysis in accordance with ISO 31000
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in multiple levels of communication between various levels of management, internal and external.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience working in a diplomatic environment
  • Previous in-country experience in a similar capacity;
  • A working knowledge of Arabic (Iraqi dialect).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. The post is covered on a rotational basis.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Communications Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

Nationality Australian

The Communications Technician (CT) is responsible for management and maintenance of the project communications systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining all communication equipment.
  • Maintaining tactical tracking hardware readiness and associated software.
  • Managing deployed tactical radio systems and cryptographic handling.
  • Providing refresher training on all systems to Service Provider Personnel.
  • Maintaining all electronic equipment fitted to the AVs including but not limited to ECM, satellite phone, dashcam, DVR and GPS tracking.
  • Managing the frequency database.
  • Assisting the client with IT and communications issues; and
  • Providing communications refresher training for Australian Embassy Personnel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The CT must have:

  • At least two (2) years’ experience operating in high risk environments.
  • Relevant military or civilian qualifications and experience in repairing and maintaining communications equipment.
  • Sound problem solving skills; and
  • Excellent communication skills 

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience working in a diplomatic environment;
  • Previous in-country experience in a similar capacity; and
  • A working knowledge of Arabic (Iraqi dialect).
