Instructor, Firearms & Tactics

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Provides quality high risk firearms and tactics instruction to Academi customers.

 

Pay: $31.25/hr.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides instruction for Firearms and Tactics courses utilizing prescribed curriculum.
  • Updates course curriculum as directed by Sr. F & T Instructor and/or management staff.
  • Lead Instructs/Assistant Instructor for all Core Curriculum Courses.
  • Lead Instructor/Assistant Instructor for all Contracted Courses.
  • Teaches customized training courses.
  • Conducts mobile training.
  • Explains and demonstrates use of apparatus and equipment.
  • Evaluates the abilities of individual participants to determine suitable corrective or remedial training.
  • Maintains overall safety and organization of the training environment.
  • Ensures safety of students. Communicates and oversees compliance with company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Ensures accountability for all training equipment.
  • Identifies in a timely manner training requirements needed to maintain required certifications and company standards and completes all required continuing education and refresher training programs.
  • Completes any additional training and/or certifications required by the government or the contract.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Eight years of practical experience in Law Enforcement and/or Military Special Operations required.
  • Completion of US Military/Law Enforcement (DCJS or POST) Course or equivalent years of experience in tactical instruction techniques required. Must pass background investigation, physical, drug, and psychological screening, and have no legal disqualifiers to possess firearms.
  • Computer literate with basic proficiency in MS Office required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion.
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 6am-3pm or 3pm-11pm, with some extended or weekend hours required.

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Range Operations Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility and function of a Range Operations Specialist (ROS) is to comprehensively operate all firing range systems (e.g. software, programs, equipment, etc.) during all shooting activities.  An ROS is often depended upon to assist and/or guide range personnel, both on and off the firing range deck, and is expected to do so in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors the daily range schedule
  • Operates target carrier system and all other firing range software, programs, and equipment
  • Observes range activity and alerts the Range Master accordingly (e.g. safety violations and other issues or concerns)
  • Addresses and corrects repair needs on the firing range
  • Performs range inspections before and after all range activity, and reports findings accordingly
  • Keep the Range Operation Booth sanitary and neat
  • Perform all computer functions as assigned
  • Ensures ranges are entered hot and hold utilizing the Brains Computer Software
  • Communicates range hot and cold status with Range Master via hand-held radios
  • Assists with the preparation of Daily Range Control Brief as directed by the Range Master
  • Conducts Range Check-in and Check-out tasks in accordance with Range Control Standard Operating Procedure
  • Ensures Daily Range Control Brief is accurate and submitted in a timely manner
  • Ensures ranges are checked out and in, in accordance with the Range Control Standard Operating Procedure
  • Reports range deficiencies to Range Master and the Lead ROS
  • Reports range conflicts to the Lead ROS (and/or training center scheduling entities if necessary) for resolution
  • Assists commercial clients with range assignment and other needs as necessary
  • Completes all training requirements as assigned
  • Comprehends and follows all emergency response plans and procedures as required
  • Completes annual Blood Lead Level and Audiogram testing
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age
  • Experience as a Range Safety Officer preferred, or equivalent combination of training and related experience within the U.S. Military or Law Enforcement required
  • Proficiency with MS Office required
  • Effective oral and written communication skills within all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is based out of a busy training center/business office environment and may be subject to frequent interruptions.  The standard work week for a Range Operations Specialist is Monday through Friday, with operating hours anywhere between 6:00 AM through 12:00 AM; however, extended hours and weekend hours are also sometimes required. The Day Shift typically runs from 6:00 AM through 3:00 PM.  The evening shift typically runs from 3:00 PM through 12:00 AM.  The work schedule for a Range Operations Specialist will include hours during the day shift and/or the evening shift, either in their entirety, or any portion or combination thereof.  Scheduling is based upon the needs of the training center.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 80 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.  Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.  Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Recruiter

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Recruiter will be responsible for full lifecycle recruiting in support of our North America Operations (NAO) Business Unit at Constellis.  The position will be based in our Herndon, VA office on a Hybrid work schedule. (2 days a week in office, 3 days remote) 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit multiple positions and manage a high volume of candidates simultaneously
  • Own the recruitment process from search to managing candidate relationship through offer acceptance
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract active and passive candidates to meet hiring requirements to include job posting optimization, digital and non- digital employment marketing, transitioning military recruitment, social media, job fairs and networking
  • Screen and evaluate applicants work history, education, training, skills, and compensation needs to obtain best match for position
  • Provide complete and accurate information to candidates about the company and position
  • Manage the candidate flow in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) in accordance with company policy and procedures as well as OFCCP compliance
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, program managers, and the business development team to develop custom recruiting strategies
  • Manage competing priorities simultaneously
  • Recommend improved efficiencies for systems and processes
  • Provide weekly performance metrics
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or at least two (2) years of recruiting experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree (military or sales experience may be substituted)
  • 3+ years of sourcing/recruiting experience (1 year recruiting candidates possessing Secret level through TS/SCI with poly clearances desired)
  • Demonstrated ability to communication and build relationships with applicants, internal customers, and business partners
  • Ability to understand position requirements to effectively identify qualified applicants
  • Previous experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and recruiting tools
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
  • Willing to work in a fast paced and fluid recruiting environment
  • Possess attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team with track record of producing results in fast paced environment
  • Willing to occasionally travel, sometimes on short notice
  • Successful track record of achieving targets (deadlines and recruiting goals)
  • Knowledge of OFCCP, legal and compliance issues in the recruiting field desired
