Afghanistan Weekly Security Report – 8 March 2018

Two separate suicide bomber attacks claimed lives in Afghanistan this week. One suicide attacker detonated a car bomb between two Australian embassy armoured vehicles along Jalalabad road in Kabul around 9am on March 2. One civilian was killed and 22 were injured, including two Australian security contractors. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. On March 7, at least three people, including the Haj and Religious Affairs provincial director, were killed and 16 were injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives vest near the director’s vehicle in Jalalabad city.
