The Saudi Arabian Interior Ministry announced that four police officers were shot and killed during an attack at a police checkpoint in the southern Asir province on April 19. An additional four officers were injured in the firefight between security forces and the attackers. Police units chased the attackers, and captured two of them. A third was killed in the fire exchange that followed. The assailants were all Saudi citizens.
For the first time ever, Saudi Aramco has appointed a woman to its executive board, a move described by the international media as a milestone for the world’s most profitable oil company.
