POSITION: Background Investigator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct federal background investigations and prepare reports of investigations in compliance with Federal Investigative Standards, all laws, and other required federal agency regulations. Work cases throughout the geographic area of responsibility and travel to various places of employment, residence and education institutions.

 

Salary range $26-$38 per hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizenship;
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 1 year within the last five (5) years of investigations experience at the federal, state, or local level of government;
  • Must have some mix of NBIB/DCSA/FIS Experience;
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record;
  • Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane);
  • Successfully pass background checks and all required training;
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram, or schedule form;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence;
  • Ability to work in a MS Window based operating environment, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and E-mail;
  • Current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Secret level security clearance based on an SSBI and able to obtain the required security clearance.

 Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct in-person, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain factual information about the individual’s background and character, in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Obtain factual information from a variety of personal and record sources to produce a report of investigation that contains all pertinent facts of an individual’s background and character in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.
  • Travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility to conduct investigations at various places of employment, residence, and education institutions as cases are assigned.
  •  Must be willing to travel in and around assigned location within 30-50 miles (or more) as needed
  • Engage in dialogue on a regular basis with managers and representatives at contractor facilities, various U. S. Government organizations, and law enforcement agencies to develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Adapt to changing situations and environments as they occur and be able to interact with people from all walks of life and socioeconomic levels.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills and exhibit professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Work load based on availability of cases in geographic area.
  • Some voluntary, temporary duty assignments in other areas of the country (typically 2-4 weeks at a time) are possible.
  • Other duties as required.

 Desired Experience and Education:

  • Office of Personnel Management investigator training.
  • Prior background investigations experience supporting government contracts.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Current Top Secret clearance

Requires intermittent standing, writing/typing, walking, sitting, and driving throughout the workday, and may include for multiple hours.

Security Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Serves as a First line supervisor monitoring and directing staff as necessary and perform administrative tasks including timekeeping, and report tracking. Provides close first line supervision of personnel/security officers assigned to their respective shifts, functions, and facilities. In case of after-hours emergency situations, the Supervisor on duty responds and take initial command until higher authority arrives.  They are empowered with the authority necessary to handle emergency events.  Under no circumstances will Supervisors perform officer duties while working in a supervisory capacity. 

 

PAY TRANSPARENCY/COMPENSATION

 

Base Rate $70,000/year

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Take immediate action to correct deficiencies and solve problems,
  • Identify and resolve day-to-day staffing shortages caused by call offs,
  • Ensure breaks and relief are provided,
  • Provide verbal counseling and initiate written disciplinary actions as necessary,
  • Provide direct oversight and close supervision of the security officers assigned to their respective areas, functions and facilities

  • Perform appraisal and analysis of work accomplishments for subordinates.
  • Review all reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure officers follow all work rules, maintain and display good discipline, and present a professional appearance by conducting random, unannounced personnel and post inspections
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFATIONS

  • 3 years of full-time law enforcement experience while employed by a United States federal, state, city or municipality law enforcement entity, or the United States Military, or; 3 years of non-administrative United States military active duty.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or legally eligible to work in the United States or Lawful Permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or who possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component the United States Armed Forces. 
  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration, which bears the individuals name and social security number.

WORKING CONDITIONS

K9 Junior Handler

POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The Jr. Handler is responsible with screening cargo in compliance with TSA rules and regulations. The Jr. Handler is required to complete a 4–8 weeks minimum team training course and certification prior to mobilization to the assigned location. 

 

  • Pay rate $24-$27 per hour
  • Training is compensated at the rate of $15.00 per hour

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Participate in CCSP related training to search cargo and identify explosive threats 
  • Conduct authorized representative duties related to X-Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection as needed 
  • Perform Handler duties while commanding a trained explosive working dog 
  • Responsible for maintaining training records 
  • Responsible for maintaining training records, care, and maintenance of assigned certified canine. The assigned canine must be permitted to live inside the employee’s residence.  The employee’s residence must be adequate, indoor, and climate-controlled for the canine.  The canine living area at the employee’s residence is subject to reoccurring inspections. 
  • Must maintain all job-related certifications and required security clearances 
  • Must be willing to operate company vehicle (during on-site training) 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Training rate is $15.00 per hour

  • Participate in required training to search venues and identify explosive threats  
  • Conduct authorized representative duties related to X-Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection as needed 
  • Perform Handler duties while commanding a trained explosive working dog 
  • Handler will be responsible for maintaining training records 
  • Responsible for maintaining training records, care, and maintenance of assigned certified canine. Performing various day-to-day management responsibilities including preparing shift scheduled, training replacement security officers, disciplining when necessary and reporting to proper chain of command and provide security for the personnel and property of, and visitors to, assigned US Government Property. Oversee operations at headquarters building.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep the Contract Manager’s Office informed of all potential problems and threatening situations, and provide alternatives for solutions, when possible.
  • Collaborates with the scheduler to ensure that all posts are covered, while minimizing overtime.
  • Understands and upholds the Rules of Personal Conduct and contractual agreements. Ensures that officers follow order of contractual agreements.
  • Conduct post and officer inspections ensuring officers have appropriate uniform and equipment, and are following all policies, procedures, and post orders.
  • Provide coherent written reports documenting site inspections, disciplinary actions, and incident investigations.
  • Demonstrate capability in managing multiple tasks as well as demonstrate capability in delegating tasks to officers when appropriate.
  • Ensure all Security Officers complete the paperwork related to their Posts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

LICENSING, PERMITS, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License or a California Identification card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles and carry it in their possession while on duty.
  • Current BSIS Security Guard card
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum two (2) years of successful experience in field supervision of twenty (20) employees or more.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and reporting writing skills;
  • Training skills to develop personnel, understand and perpetuate succession planning (Mentoring) and demonstrate leadership;
  • Ability to counsel and discipline in effective manner in both negative and positive situations;
  • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses in personnel and communicate corrective solutions;
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times and command presence to convey authority in security situations;
  • Must have a positive attitude toward work and workers, lead by example and show enthusiasm and energy;
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English language fluently;
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately.

POSITION SUMMARY

Triple Canopy and Constellis’ Security Guards provide general security for building patrons and the general public at various state buildings within the Sacramento, CA area.

 

PAY TRANSPARENCEY/COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate – $16.000/hr

Health and Welfare – $10.44/hr (Cash in Lieu Available)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor the entry and exit of personnel at User Agency facilities
  • Inspect facilities to ensure doors, windows and roofs are secure
  • Protect state property and deter theft or criminal activity by serving as a physical presence or visual deterrent while making security checks throughout User Agency facilities
  • Maintain security logs
  • Maintain high visibility, answer routine questions for directions and handle minor problems
  • Observe and immediately report urgent and suspicious situations to the appropriate personnel, and/or emergency services via telephone, radio or any means possible
  • Prepare incident reports pursuant to the terms of the subsidiary agreement

Must have visual and audio acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, machines such as fire equipment and apparatuses, firearms and clearing barrels. SUMMARY

 The Guard enforces regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security, exercises judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies, determining whether to intervene directly, ask for assistance as time permits, keep situation under control or surveillance, or to report incident or situation to the appropriate authority for handling.  Duties require specialized training in methods and techniques of protecting controlled areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Escort of detainees in custody while present at medical treatment facilities, courtrooms, detention facilities, and any other guard services
  • Serves detainees prepared meals as required or directed
  • Conduct searches of holding cells and/or detainees as required or directed
  • providing security/escort at local medical facilities, for the duration of the detainee’s hospital care, restricting unauthorized public access to detainees.
  • Provides security as directed by TOMs to various locations throughout the facility
  • Performs searches of vehicles and persons as directed by the contract or contracting officer’s representatives.
  • Enforce regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security, exercise judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies.
  • Maintain the security of all areas by taking actions as required.
  • Take charge of your post by securing and protecting personnel and property for which you are responsible until properly relieved.
  • Comply with orders and instructions given. These responsibilities continue until relieved by proper authority.
  • Report all violations of orders you must enforce.
  • Give the alarm in case of disorder or emergency.
  • Report unusual events that threaten security or endangers life or property.
  • Take reasonable counteraction to save life and property or lessen danger. At the same time, you must maintain the security of your post and remain alert during the emergency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 year of full-time experience as a Security officer within the United States or 1 year of full-time law enforcement experience while employed by a United States federal, state, city or municipality law enforcement entity, or the United States Military, or; 3 years of non-administrative United States military active duty.
  • Possess Active BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit
  • Possess Active BSIS Guard Card
  • BSIS Baton Permit
  • US citizen and resided in the U.S. for the last five years
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language and ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms
  • Must be able to pass all training and obtain all required certifications.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Where required must be able to pass a background investigation to include but not limited to criminal, credit and driving record checks.
  • Must be able to pass US Government background investigation for required security clearance if necessary.

  • Obtain Federal Suitability Clearance applies.
