Nigeria Weekly Report – 15 April 2018
16-Apr-18

Forty-eight critical incidents in Nigeria resulted in 99 deaths and at least 25 arrests this week. With the military campaigning to degrade the capabilities of Boko Haram and the herdsmen engaged in attacks against farming communities, the security/defense category captured nearly 21% of this week’s total incident pool, the same rate for the criminality category.

Protests are being planned for 15 April by Shiite group, the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), to coincide with the hundredth days of continuous demand for the release of its leader. Protests have already taken place on 13 April in Abuja, prompting the police to shutdown sections of the city. Find out more in our Nigeria Weekly report.
